LGA Annual Cyber update

Join us on Friday 4 February from 2:00pm – 3:00pm at the LGA Annual Cyber update.

We are speaking alongside the National Cyber Security Centre, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and the Cabinet Office about cyber risk.

The talk focuses on how local government can work together to protect sensitive data as a sector.

The COVID crisis has been a catalyst for digital innovation and increased digitisation within the Local Government sector, and with that comes an increased cyber risk. A risk, that if realised, may not only cost millions but could result in the sensitive data of thousands of our most vulnerable residents being sold on the dark web.

The Local Government Association are hosting a webinar with colleagues from the National Cyber Security Centre, Cabinet Office, Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to discuss this reality and how we can work to better protect our sector. The event will be chaired by Alison McKenzie Folan, Chief Executive at Wigan Council.
