Back to Digital Planning Programme Case Studies
Partnering with Citizenlab, Newham Council held a series of hybrid engagement events to channel and support access and involvement in the regeneration vision of Beckton Riverside. The project utilised digital and in-person engagement to encourage a more representative range of diverse voices.
To do so, the project information and digital engagement tools were hosted via the Newham engagement platform, Newham Co-create. The project team used a variety of methods to achieve this, including through offering targeted support for the more digitally excluded building skills and confidence in the community to drive positive engagement with plans and build new homes and a new town centre for residents. Additionally, the team hired two youth interns to work alongside engagement consultants giving a better insight into the borough.
