Broadland District Council

Outcome of Expression of Interest: Not shortlisted

Broadland and South Norfolk Councils are becoming one joint officer team to deliver services for our residents. Our challenge is two councils working together to provide a seamless customer facing digital platform to provide fully digitalised end-to-end solutions to enable the Councils to manage demand and improve the customer experience. Focus will be on enabling customers to book/use  services offered across our organisations, examples include high-volume services such as council tax, planning, waste, leisure services, training/course bookings etc. The solution would offer both self-service over the web and assisted self-service. Options to integrate with standard payment services to be fully explored to aid adoption across Local Government, as well as developing common interfaces to a range of business systems where appropriate. Longer term, we would also like to explore how in the future, we could improve service delivery through greater use of automation eg virtual agents etc and how this could be standardised to enable it to be incorporated easily into other local government services as well as developing an  estimated savings model.
