City of Wolverhampton Council
With our partners and communities, we are developing a Stronger Communities programme which supports the City of Wolverhampton to achieve more through the use of the skills, knowledge and assets available within our communities and individuals living in our city – shifting from a deficit approach, to a strength-based approach to public services.
We will work with our partners and communities to build digital platforms, self-help tools, service navigators and directories, to support and engage with our communities to build on their strengths and assets, to enable independence and community resilience, and enable people to both access and develop the support that is needed to keep them healthy and well.
We will explore areas such as advice and guidance, self-assessment, family support, strength-based community development and volunteering. We would like to undertake a Discovery – working closely with our partners and community groups to shape the digital solutions our communities need.
We will also explore a more holistic approach to community services including housing, benefits, welfare, social care, public health, culture and environment, skills and employment whilst maximising the delivery and signposting of these services through our Libraries and Strengthening Families Hubs, supported by a network of Community Builders.
