Project title: Allotment registration service design

Current stage: Alpha

Allotments are becoming more and more popular and we face increasing demand for plots.  We would like to develop an online app that allows people to register their interest for an allotment, be able to pick the exact plot location they would like as well as get helpful advice around using their allotment space effectively.  With popular allotments, we would like the user to be able to apply to a waiting list and see where they are currently in the queue for a plot.

Discovery evidence

We are facing increased demand for allotments and it was raised at the LocalGovCamp event by several other organisations.  With continuing financial cuts, administering allotments can be quite costly.  This system would allow much of this administration to be automated, saving time and money for local government organisations.

  1. I think it’s a very good idea. As it is frustrating getting information as to when and how to get an allotment plot in Colchester.
