Gloucestershire County Council
Libraries are a focal point for digital assistance and access in a locality. Print, scan and copy are three outputs that bring the public to a library:
- high volume, low value transactions
- Unattended opening requires solutions for the release of and payment for print
- expectation to pay via card
- staff and public print functions are kept separate leading to duplicate licence costs
We completed soft market test research regarding solutions for print, scan and copy and intend to tender for a commercial solution.
Within this contract we want to consider building agile development to maximise value for money and respond to customer expectations and uses.
This Discovery project will:
- Understand public print, scan and copy needs
- Research card payments options and project the potential costs associated
- Consider accessibility requirements
- Understand the potential to utilise single multi-functional devices for both staff and public print, ensuring the security of staff print
We will produce assets that will be reusable by other local authorities:
- User research report
- Card Payment Value for money analysis
- Report highlighting pain points in the current procedures and policies common to library authorities
- Develop products to better meet needs of public print
- Introduction to user research
- Introduction to service design
- Introduction to digital business analysis
- Agile for teams
