Project title: Developing data standards for common local authority data sets;

Current stage: Discovery

Partners involved: Swindon, Publica,(West Oxfordshire, Cheltenham, Forest of Dean, Cotswolds). Filter on 'data standards sharing and modelling' theme to see potential partners

Data migration is projected to cost between 20-40% of any shift from legacy systems, while Local authorities gain nothing from the software during this period of time, Alternatively it’s deemed easier to delete the old data and lose any of the useful information contained within it.

We would like to investigate the idea of developing data standards for common Local authority data sets, so that standard migration tools could be developed and suppliers could build software based on those specifications; reducing cost of provision and easing the route to procurement of new systems.
