Gloucestershire County Council

Outcome of Expression of Interest: Not shortlisted

The booking and allocation of staff and volunteers is a challenge for a range of council services e.g. Registration and Libraries. Currently digital solutions are available via third party solutions but this is inconsistent, and often email and the telephone is resorted to, draining manager’s time.

We want to:

  • Understand how staff and volunteers can use digital systems to opt in to work or volunteer sessions
  • Understand if digital allocation of staff and volunteers is an effective option e.g. if an individual has marked a session as ‘available’ then managers can allocate and communicate the booking
  • Consider effective communication methods
  • Consider accessibility requirements
  • Understand which services are available and whether they’re government services or private sector
  • produce assets that will be reusable by other local authorities. In particular, we aim to produce:
    • A user research report
    • A report that will highlight pain points in the current procedures and policies
    • A to-be user journey map
  • Digital and agile awareness
  • Introduction to user research
  • Introduction to service design
  • Introduction to digital business analysis
