These two councils have recently entered into a shared waste service function. A key part of this is setting up new processes. This is an excellent opportunity to embrace channel shift and move away from paper based methods. The aims of this are a) to make our service management processes more efficient and b) to provide a better digital offer to residents around waste management services. For example how they access information and apply for waste services.
We have a supplier with whom we have commenced this work but are looking for funding to continue the project across more functions of the waste management team, integrate it with other council IT services and seek opportunities for further development.
