The Local Digital Fund - Round 6

The Local Digital Fund aims to help councils transform their digital services in line with the Local Digital Declaration.

For the sixth round of funding, we invited councils to propose discovery, alpha and beta projects that will make local government services safer, more resilient and cheaper to run.

Applications are now closed for this funding round and we are delighted to have awarded £2,016,325 to 17 council-led agile projects.

Local Digital Fund Round 6 Timeline

13 October 2022

Applications for Round 6 opened on 13 October 2022.

We invited local authorities to submit proposals for discovery, alpha and beta projects that meet the criteria outlined in the Local Digital Fund Round 6 Prospectus.

19 October 2022

We hosted a webinar on Wednesday 19 October to answer questions about applying to Round 6. You can watch a recording of the webinar on our YouTube channel.

24 November 2022

Applications closed on 24 November 2022.

6 and 7 December 2022

We invited several projects to attend a virtual panel interview with members of Local Digital and the wider Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) for clarification and discussion.

March 2023 - selected projects announced

We announced the 17 projects that will be awarded funding through Round 6.

29 March 2023

We held the Local Digital Fund Round 6 Virtual Welcome Event.

During this event, we introduced the selected projects to our team and ways of working. Projects were also able to meet other successful teams, hear about their projects and ask any questions about Round 6.
