Development data automation – addressing the shortage of delivery data

Contents:

  1. Project outputs
  2. Project timeline

This project aimed to prove the concept of automating the flow of planning application data: from applicant through the Local Planning Authority, to the regional authority, and out to the public for more effective data collection.

Obtaining even limited data on consented development is costly and labour intensive. Data is often outdated before it can be used for policy development or decision making.

Project outputs

All Local Digital Fund alpha projects were asked to provide the following information at completion:

  • User research report
  • Benefits case
  • A user experience demo or design pattern, a data model or a set of instructions
  • Recommendations for next steps
